Not only have they already mastered the ability to master such a contrasting mix of songs, but they've also managed to actually sculpt the songs together, so on listening to the album it feels incredibly familar and relatable.
I think it's the mandolin which makes this my favourite song on the album, I mean yes, Stairway to heaven is legendary but it annoys me (like with every universally popular band) that it's their most renowned song. The Battle of Evermore is unarguably a change for Led Zeppelin. The song itself speaks more folk rock than Jimmy Page guitar solo without a doubt. But hey ho, one thing if you already don't about me that you'll soon get to know is that I tend to develop a liking for the different.
The two things I probably love most about this album yet I'm not too keen on admitting but I'll admit anyway:
- Like any classic record, it has to be played on vinyl, which yes makes me sound like a slightl 'music snob' I suppose.
- but let me even that out by saying -
2. Sometimes I can't tell the difference between Robert Plant and Jack White's vocals.
